This Week's Guest:

Talk Show Producer/"Howdy Doody" Historian
BURT DUBROW
Burt graced our microphones last January and we focused primarily on his Emmy-winning talk
show career, but this time he'll join us as an an authority on the 13-year TV history of the
pioneering children's program, "Howdy Doody"...and its life beyond. It's the series' 70th
anniversary, and we're celebrating the way it should be celebrated! We'll trace the origin
of the show and its stellar cast that included Buffalo Bob Smith (of course), the three
actors who played Clarbell the clown, and the actors who played Princess Summerfall
Winterspring, Chief Thunderthud, and Corny Cobb...plus the talented puppeteers who worked
the marionettes. Life was not always a bed of roses behind the scenes in Doodyville, and
we'll cover that, plus Bob Smith's near-fatal heart attack that almost ended the show in
1954. All this, lots of clips, plus your e-mails!
