This Week's Guests:

Children's Music Historian/Author
GREG EHRBAR
and Animation Historian/Author
JERRY BECK
Alright, class...please come to order. It's time to learn everything you always wanted to know about the
history of music in cartoons, starting with silent movie accompaniment all the way through your favorite
television animation! So that means everyone will be covered - Carl W. Stalling, Milt Franklyn, Sammy
Timberg, Winston Sharples, George Bruns, Scott Bradley, Tutti Camarata, Phillip Scheib, John Seely,
Bill Loose, and of course, Hanna-Barbera's Hoyt Curtin. Music was a very important part to the success
of any cartoon, and Greg and Jerry (experts both) will explain why...with lots of specific examples,
including how the WB cartoons suffered during the musicians' strike in 1958. Somehow the "Dennis the
Menace" TV theme doesn't quite work in a Road Runner cartoon. Plus...we'll read your e-mails!
