NEXT LIVE BROADCAST:
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2015
4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET
This Week's Guests:
Emmy-Winning Writers/Producers KEN LEVINE and DAVID ISAACS
Despite Kelsey Grammer's expression above, he has lots to thank Ken and David for - they wrote
and consulted on over 250 scripts for his award-winning series. We'll talk about the full transition
from "Cheers" to "Frasier" behind-the-scenes, including making the deal with the network, casting
the show (which brought some of the other characters from "Cheers" into occasional guest roles),
extending Ken's added career as a director, and how "consulting" on a show differs from being on
staff. We'll also talk about the guys' work on "Becker" (Ted Danson's follow-up sitcom), and how
they were able to write and consult on both simultaneously. Finally, we'll discuss Ken's recent
live stage play, "A or B?", which received rave reviews. How does an accomplished sitcom writer
make the switch from TV to stage? What are the steps involved in getting a theater to have faith
in your project? How is a production staff assembled and how is the play cast? These and many
more pertinent questions will be answered, along with the questions you e-mail to us...and don't
forget to catch Ken all month long on TCM hosting Neil Simon movies (we'll talk about that, too!).
