Media Critics STEVE BEVERLY AND WESLEY HYATT
Thanksgiving Eve means the bi-annual visit of the show's resident critics, Steve and Wes! We've got a
boatload of topics we'll be discussing this time out. First, we'll talk about something we've been
predicting for years - the Emmys are moving permanently to a streaming platform (and lucky for the ATAS
that Amazon has deep pockets to pay their operating expenses), but how good a financial move is it for all
involved? Next, we'll have the latest on the Paramount-WB merger and CBS' late night ratings since the
cancellation of Colbert's show. Then we'll riff on cutbacks - once again in local news (a major market
has gone the "playlist" route by firing studio anchors like some smaller markets have done...how has that
worked out?) as well as Netflix (which was going to buy WB, remember?). Other topics include Disney's
battle with the FCC over their station license renewals, your genial host's new streaming "toy", and Wes
will remember Dolly Parton and Shelley Fabares...plus we'll read your e-mails!
